Letting agents in London borough hit with £430,000 fines

According to a report in The Negotiator the fines received by Tower Hamlets and for both illegal fees and failing to sign up to a redress scheme.

The website states the London Borough has imposed fines of £431,851 on letting and managing agents in the last six years.

Most of these fines, £308,101, were issued for illegal fees being imposed. The remainder, £123,750, being for not signing up to a redress scheme.
